Oracle's July 2026 Critical Patch Update discloses a CVSS 9.8 vulnerability in Oracle Retail Integration Bus that lets an unauthenticated attacker fully compromise the product over the network.
What Is It
CVE-2026-46982 is a critical vulnerability in the RIB Kernel component of Oracle Retail Integration Bus, part of Oracle Retail Applications. Per Oracle's advisory, the flaw is "easily exploitable" and allows an unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise the product. A successful attack can result in complete takeover of Oracle Retail Integration Bus.
It carries a CVSS 3.1 base score of 9.8 (CRITICAL) with the vector CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:H/I:H/A:H, network attack vector, low attack complexity, no privileges or user interaction required, and high impact to confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
Why It Matters
The combination of no authentication, network reachability over HTTP, and low attack complexity makes this vulnerability trivial to weaponize against exposed systems. Because a successful attack yields full takeover of the Integration Bus, a component that brokers data across retail applications, the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of connected retail systems are all at risk. The maximum-tier CVSS score (9.8) reflects that severity.
What's Vulnerable
The affected product is Oracle Retail Integration Bus (vendor: Oracle Corporation), specifically the RIB Kernel component. The supported version confirmed affected is 14.1.3.2.
Patch Status
Oracle addressed this vulnerability in its July 2026 Critical Patch Update. Affected organizations should apply the fixes documented in the Oracle Critical Patch Update Advisory (July 2026) as remediation.
Note: The supplied CISA KEV data contains no entry for this CVE, so there is no confirmation of active exploitation in the wild at this time.
